Based on the directive of the Emirate of Riyadh to move the Yamama Cement Factory from the current site to a new location, geological studies have been carried out for three sites proposed by the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources. New Yamama Cement Project.
The cement factory contract was signed on 24/11/2015 with one of the best international companies specialized in the cement industry "ThyssenKrupp" Germany. The contract was activated and construction started on 26/04 /2016.

Cement production lines
- Two production lines with a capacity of 2X10,000 tons clinker / day according to the latest international technologies and environmental standards applied in the industry of high-efficiency cement to produce cement quality and resistance to normal and finishing cement. With the commitment to the optimal use of fuel (natural gas or crude oil) provided that the fuel consumption does not exceed three million British thermal units per ton of cement as required by the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources.
- All plant equipment is of European origin and environmentally friendly, where the emission rate does not exceed 5 milligrams per cubic meter.
Electricity Station
- Consisting of 10 machines with a production capacity of 133 MW.
- It works by burning natural gas or crude oil by the high efficiency combined cycle system to exploit the thermal energy loss according to the requirements of the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources.
Infrastructure and public services
- A full service residential city for families and singles and can accommodate 600 employees.
- Integrated infrastructure of the project "water, sewage treatment plant, drainage, etc."
- External and internal roads serving the project with an overpass "bridge" linking the main road to the project site.
- Sports courts, commercial center, schools and health services.
